Women & Infants Staff Member Earns Award of Excellence

 Denise Roncarati, CAVS (certified administrator of volunteer services), of Cumberland, director of Volunteer Services at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, was recently presented with the New England Award for Professional Excellence from the New England Association of Healthcare Volunteer Services.This award is given annually to someone who has demonstrated extraordinary service and contributions to the advancement of the health care volunteer management profession, the Association, and their local health care facility and community.

 

Roncarati has worked in volunteer services for more than 30 years, 25 of which have been at Women & Infants Hospital, where she provides leadership of a department that supports and integrates the services of more than 750 volunteers per year.

 

She is past president of the Rhode Island Association of Healthcare Volunteer Administrators and the New England Association of Directors of Healthcare Volunteer Services, where she also serves on the board of directors. She has served on the Association of Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals Committee of the American Hospital Association.
