DEXA Bone Density Scans

The DEXA bone density scan is a painless imaging study that measures the density of the bone in different areas of the body and can be completed in a short period of time. It involves a low-dose x-ray that measures calcium and other minerals in the bones. The measurement helps show the strength and thickness of bones.
