We have a longstanding tradition of advanced training in care of the high-risk newborn. The neonatal fellowship includes intensive involvement in all clinical programs, including our Neonatal Follow-up Clinic. Our Simulation Lab is also an integral part of the training of NICU fellows, nurse practitioners, and residents, as well as other key health care providers.
The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics boasts a beautiful, state-of-the-art, 80 bed, single-family NICU, located in the South Pavilion at Women & Infants Hospital. An article entitled "Room to Grow" from Brown Medicine also spotlights the new NICU.
We offer a robust research environment, affording fellows opportunities to conduct research with experienced investigators in a wide range of clinical and basic science research, including:
- Developmental biology.
- Fetal endocrinology and metabolism.
- Perinatal cardiovascular regulation.
- Perinatal brain development and maturation.
- Developmental immunology.
- Molecular genetics.
- Reproductive endocrinology.
- Neonatal neuro-development and behavior.
If you will be interviewing with our program, the fellowship coordinator, Christine Rockwell, would be happy to schedule you to specifically meet with a particular researcher whose area of research interests you. Please notify her accordingly at email@example.com or by calling (401) 274-1122, ext. 47442.
