Jesse Bender III, MD, provides information technology expertise in Women & Infants’ Department of Pediatrics as the resource for database development, process engineering and electronic medical record implementation.

He researches simulation-based medical education for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program and provides multidisciplinary teams simulation curricula ranging from code management to delivering difficult news.

International delegations from Russia and Kosovo have sought neonatal transport simulation training from Women & Infants Hospital, following TESTPILOT, the macrosystems testing protocol for transitioning NICU staff to the new single-family room environment without putting patients at risk.

Dr. Bender is now co-director of Women & Infants’ Simulation Program as well as assistant director of Neonatal Simulation at the Rhode Island Hospital Medical Simulation Center.
