Jennifer S. Gass, MD, is chief of surgery at Women & Infants Hospital, director of the Breast Fellowship at the Breast Health Center, as well as clinical assistant professor at Brown Medical School from 1993-present. She is board certified in both general surgery and critical care.

She received her medical degree (honors) in 1987 from the University of Maryland Medical School, Baltimore, MD. She completed her internship in 1988 at Temple University Hospital and her residency in 1992 at the same hospital. She was an assistant professor at Wayne State University from 1992-1993. She has full privileges at Women & Infants Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital, and Miriam Hospital. She was a member of the Breast Cancer Task Force of the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Committee from 1995-1997.

In 2002-2003 she attended in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Rhode Island Hospital. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Rhode Island Medical Women's Association, Rhode Island Medical Society, American Medical Women's Association, Association of Women Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, and American Medical Association.

Dr. Gass participates with Dr. Legare and Jennifer Scalia-Wilbur in the Cancer Risk Assessment and Prevention Program. Through Dr. Gass, the Breast Health Center has been chosen as a site for the multi-institutional Cyro-assisted Lumpectomy Trial. Dr. Gass currently offers cryoablation of fibroadenomas.
