Perinatal Hepatitis Can Be Prevented Identifying pregnant women infected with hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV), and preventing transmission of the virus to the baby is the goal of the Rhode Island Perinatal Hepatitis Prevention Program.
Perinatal Hepatitis Prevention Program We follow patients with hepatitis B and C through pregnancy and offer counseling and appropriate medical therapy. Our program has been recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for helping the state achieve the nation's highest hepatitis immunization rate.
