Parking for Volunteer Services- Interview or Orientation

You may park in the lot directly across from 300 Richmond in the assigned spots ONLY (8-9, 12-13, 14-15 and 80-84). In addition, there is an overflow lot just around the corner at the intersection of Elm and Chestnut Streets (next to Art Bar). It has small signs indicating it is for Women & Infants. There are also a number of metered spots around the area.

The program is designed to encourage youth to get involved with their community by providing volunteer services to patients and family members at Women & Infants Hospital.

Eligibility

Open to teens who have completed at least one year of high school by June 30th 2016

Assignment Schedule

Those who participate are scheduled two days each week, totaling six shifts, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. for one session during July or August.

July Session
  • Tuesday/Thursday shifts are scheduled on: July 12th & 14th, 19th & 21st, 26th & 28th.
  • Wednesday/Friday shifts are scheduled on: July 13th & 15th, 20th & 22nd, 27th & 29th.
August Session
  • Tuesday/Thursday shifts are scheduled on: August 2nd & 4th, 9th & 11th 16th & 18th.
  • Wednesday/Friday are scheduled on: August 3rd & 5th, 10th & 12th, 17th & 19th.

Enrollment Timeline & Process

To be eligible to participate in the program, student attendance is required at each of the following sessions:

  • 1 Hour Informational Session: Thursday, April 14th at 4 p.m. or Wednesday, April 20th at 12:30 p.m.
  • Enrollment Session: Wednesday, June 8th; open session between 4-5:30 p.m.
  • Orientation & Training: Wednesday, June 29th; save the date!
*If you are not available to attend orientation & training, you will not be eligible to participate in the program. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate requests to make up this date.

Onboarding Requirements: 

Health Requirements: The following immunization requirements will be reviewed at the Informational Session; health documentation will be collected at the Enrollment Session.
  • Proof of two MMR immunizations.
  • Proof of two Varicella vaccines or date of chickenpox disease.
  • Proof of two Mantoux TB test results, which were administered within one year of the enrollment session date noted above.
  • Proof of T-DAP vaccination.
Application Process: Interested candidates will need to complete an application. Please note: Candidates will be contacted within 5-7 business days of submitting the application. We have limited openings and will close the application when we reach capacity.
