The Contraception Study is being conducted to learn about how birth control can affect the vaginal environment and risk for sexually transmitted infections. The research will be done in three visits to the Obstetric and Gynecology Care Center (formerly WPCC) and would involve a short questionnaire and vaginal swabs. Each visit should not take longer than 15 minutes.
Between the ages of 18 and 40 years of age who are electing to start contraception.
$15 at three different time points (total $45).
How long will I be part of the study?
You would participate in the study until 6 months after the initial appointment.
How long will each visit take?
You will come in for 3 visits that will last approximately 15 minutes each.
Do I have to pay for parking?
A parking ticket will be provided to you to cover the cost of parking in the Rhode Island Hospital parking lot.
