Jean E. Twomey, PhD
is a clinical social worker with extensive experience in infancy and early childhood. She provides outpatient therapy for children with behavioral and emotional concerns and treats parental stress and depression.
Dr. Twomey, of the Departments of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and Pediatrics, works with families whose infants have regulatory disorder such as colic and sleep through the Crying, Colic and Sleep Clinic. She also is interested in optimizing child developmental and psychological outcomes for substance-exposed infants and promoting the parenting abilities of substance-using women.
She serves on the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Association for Infant Mental Health and was named 2010 Social Worker of the Year in Children & Families by the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.
