Teen Volunteer Scholarship Program

These scholarships have been established to recognize the service and dedication of teens who have volunteered at Women & Infants and to support them in attaining their career goals through higher education.

The following candidates are the recipients of the 2012 Student Volunteer Scholarship Award. They will each receive an award of $500.00, sponsored by the Employee Relations Committee.  Congratulations!

  • Kaitlyn DiTraglia: Graduate of LaSalle Academy. She will attend Quinnipiac in the Fall with a major in Nursing.
  • Marykate McCutcheon: Graduate of Smithfield High School. She will attend Rhode Island College in the Fall with a major in Pre-Med/Music.


The following candidates are the recipients of the 2011 Student Volunteer Scholarship Award. They will each receive an award of $500.00. Congratulations!

  • Laura Fishpaw: Graduate of Mt. Saint Charles Academy. She will be attending Simmons College with a major in Nursing.
  • Kiley Fair: Graduate of Smithfield High School. She will be attending University of RI with a major in Nursing.

The following candidates are the recipients of the 2010 Student Volunteer Scholarship Award. They will each receive an award of $500.00. Congratulations!

  • Jennifer Mattera: Cranston High School West Attending Providence College-Major in Biology/Pre-Med
  • Kathryn Bednarczyk: North Kingstown High School Attending University of RI-Major in Nursing

Congratulations to the following students who were awarded the 2009 Student Volunteer Scholarships.

  • Brittney Hamaker: CCRI - General Education
    (in January 2010 transfer to Christopher Newport University, VA)
  • Jordan Swearingen: Duke University - major in Neuroscience

The following candidates are the recipients of the 2008 Student Volunteer Scholarship Award. They will each receive an award of $1,000 at the Teen Volunteer Recognition Dinner on August 13, 2008. Congratulations!

  • Ariana Colapietro: Springfield College-Physicians Asst. Program
  • Sudha Panneerselvam: Boston University-Pre Med
  • Nescarly Presendieu: Rhode Island College-Nursing Program

Congratulations to the following students who were awarded the 2007 Student Volunteer Scholarships. They each received an award of $1,000 at the Teen Volunteer Recognition Dinner on August 14, 2007.

  • Nancy Naam

Congratulations to the following students who were awarded $500 Teen Volunteer Scholarships in the summer of 2006:
