Emergency Room/ Triage

Women & Infants Emergency Department is one of a kind. The role of the Emergency Department is to evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and urgent illness. Our unique focus is evaluating and triaging women in labor and those carrying a high-risk pregnancies, as well as caring for women with acute obstetric or gynecologic emergencies.

Ttriageentrancevirtualtourhe Emergency Department is staffed by ob/gyn attending physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, residents and nursing staff. Our providers collaborate with specialists in maternal-fetal medicine, obstetric medicine, oncology, and behavioral health to offer the best possible care to our patients.

Your Arrival

When you come to the Emergency Department you will visit the "Triage Area" first.

During the triage process, a nurse will ask for a brief medical and/or obstetrical history and the reason for your visit. While all obstetrical and medical conditions are concerning for our patients and their loved ones, our Emergency Department staff is trained to determine the severity of the patients' condition in order to prioritize their care. This process is called "triage".
