All Women & Infants' patients are screened for nutritional risk as part of their initial patient assessment, both in the outpatient and inpatient areas. For patients who are at nutritional risk, an appropriate interdisciplinary plan of care will be determined. The nutrition care provided to the patients will be further investigated by comprehensive assessment and an appropriate nutrition care plan will be implemented.
Patients may also receive nutrition intervention upon personal request.
Medical nutrition therapy and education are available, but not limited to:
- Diabetes during pregnancy
- Gastrointestinal disorders, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn's Disease, Colitis, Celiac Disease, Pancreatitis
- Diet during cancer treatment
- Food allergies
- Eating disorders
- Weight loss/gain program
