Ronald McDonald House Charities Awards Grant to Women & Infants

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Eastern New England recently donated $23,153 to Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island to purchase seven infant warmers for the Labor, Delivery and Recovery Unit. The organization's total giving to Women & Infants in recent years has reached nearly $75,000.

New radiant infant warmers will be placed in each of the hospital's 19 labor and delivery rooms as part of a renovation project to modernize the rooms as well as vital equipment. The project will also create a roomier and more comfortable environment for patients and caregivers.

"Women & Infants is fortunate to have such committed community partners like Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England, as well as the many local franchise owners of McDonald's restaurants," said Karen A. Davie, senior vice president, Philanthropy and Governance at Women & Infants Hospital.

"Our organization's mission is to improve the lives of children through organizations like Women & Infants," said Karen McEachern, executive director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England. "Clearly, the dedicated staff who care for more than 8,500 infants each year share our commitment to children and families."

Since 1986, RMHC of Eastern New England has given grants totaling more than $21 million to organizations and programs helping thousands of children and families throughout eastern New England.
