Blizzard tips for pregnant women

As the region prepares for a blizzard, Women & Infants Hospital would like to offer the following safety tips for expectant mothers, especially those nearing their due date:

  • If you live far from the hospital and have family or friends who live closer, you may want to consider staying with them throughout the storm.
  • If your water breaks, you think you may be in labor, or you have another emergency related to your pregnancy, please come in to be evaluated. While Women & Infants prides itself on providing family-centered care, we ask that only you and your significant other or support person come to the hospital during the storm, for everyone's safety.
  • If you do need to come to Women & Infants, we will have the staff and resources in place to ensure that you are well cared for.

If you have any further questions, please contact your obstetric care provider.
