General Radiology

General radiology tests, also called x-rays, use high-energy radiation to create images of bones, teeth and internal organs. X-ray is a simple, painless medical test that helps your doctor view and assess conditions ranging from broken bones to pneumonia to cancer.

The general radiology division of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging offers the full scope of services, including:

  • Barium enema
  • Barium swallow
  • Cervical spine
  • Hysterosalpingography, x-rays of a woman's reproductive organs
  • General studies of:
    • Paranasal sinuses/orbits
    • Chest
    • KUB
    • KUB and upright
    • Cervical spine
    • Thoracic spine
    • Lumbar spine
    • Ribs
    • Hips with or without pelvis
  • Cystogram, an x-ray of the urinary tract and bladder
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Small bowel series
  • Thoracic spine
  • Upper GI series

If your doctor has requested an x-ray, you can make an appointment Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm.
