Information about the certified nurse midwives who deliver in Women & Infants' Alternative Birthing Center

Bayside Ob/Gyn (Women & Infants Health Alliance)

Lynnette Scolpino, CNMLynnette Scolpino, CNM, received her midwifery degree from Baystate Medical Center, Tufts School of Medicine in Springfield MA in 1993. She attended Salve University and St Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing. Lynette’s personal goal is to provide family centered care and to give women the knowledge to make informed decisions. She enjoys working with teens and young adults teaching them about GYN care, birth control options, and making their first visit at the GYN office as comfortable as possible. She provides care to women throughout their lifecycle beginning with adolescence, through pregnancy, and menopause. She has been board certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives since 1993 and is a member of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP).

 Katharine Cassidy-Devito, CNM
Katharine Cassidy-Devito, CNM, is a graduate of Holy Cross and the University of Pennsylvania. She is certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives.
 Fiona Clement, CNM, MPH
Fiona Clement, CNM, MPH, is a graduate of the John Radcliffe School of Midwifery in Oxford, England and earned a master of public health with a concentration in maternal/child health from Boston University. She achieved midwifery precertification from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing and is board certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives.

 Kathleen Maniscalco, CNM


Kathleen Maniscalco, CNM, has been a part of Women's Care since 2010. She moved to Providence after graduating from Frontier College, and completing her clinical internship in Florida. She currently serves as the vice president for the Rhode Island chapter of the American College of Nurse Midwives. Kathleen enjoys teaching and currently serves as a preceptor for Yale, Frontier, and Philadelphia Universities, and has also taught at a local community college.  Prior to beginning her career in midwifery, Kathleen worked as a nurse in a very busy academic labor and delivery unit at Shands at the University of Florida for nine years. During this time she also taught, doing clinical experiences for as well as working as a birth assistant with the Florida School for Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville, FL. Kathleen has a special interest in adolescent pregnancy, as well as gynecology and family planning. She lives in Newport with her two teenage daughters and is happy to call Rhode Island home.

 Linda Nanni, CNM



Linda Nanni, CNM, is a graduate of Georgetown University, where she also received her masters in science in midwifery. Linda has been a certified nurse midwife (CNM) for 28 years. She came to Rhode Island in 1984 to begin a midwifery service at the Rhode Island Group Health Association. She supervised that service for 6 years. She has been in private practice since then. Linda is the past Chairperson of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and remains actively involved in statewide affairs that affect maternal-child health.  She has been an advisor to the Department of Health on various issues including Rite Care, prescription privileges for CNMs, and barriers to the practice for midwives. She currently sits on the Midwifery Council of the RI Department of Health where she advised the Director on statewide midwifery issues. She currently is the Regional Representative to the American College of Nurse Midwives where she represents all the New England states.  She has been active and continues to be committed to in the training of midwifery students and is currently on the teaching staff of Yale University and the Frontier Scholl of Midwifery and Philadelphia University.  She has been with Women's Care since June 1996 and is the director of the midwifery service there. She is passionate about providing access to midwifery care and helping women have a safe and satisfying childbirth experience
 

 Siegel, C Cindy Siegel, CNM,has special interest in in teen health care, breastfeeding and working with women from diverse backgrounds. She is an active volunteer with experience working with Midwives for Haiti, Circle of Health International and the RI Free Clinic.  She is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and earned a masters of science degree in midwifery from Yale University.  An international board certified lactation consultant, she is also a member of the American Midwifery Certification Board.  Cynthia has three grown daughters and one grandson.  She enjoys biking, skiing, cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.
   
 Pamela Ward, CNM, MPH Pamela Ward, CNM, MPH, is a graduate of the University Massachusetts and Northeastern University and completed a fellowship at the Boston University School of Public Health.She is board certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives.  As a CNM, she enjoys caring for women from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Her hobbies include genealogy, cooking, and playing with her grandchildren.


Ob/Gyn Associates

 Kristen Allen Kristen Allen, CNM, MSN, became a midwife to empower women in caring for themselves and their families by providing the knowledge, support and compassion they deserve.  She has a degree in psychology with a focus in women's studies from Ithaca College, a nursing degree from the University of Rhode Island, and a masters in midwifery from Philadelphia University.  A member of the American College of Nurse Midwives, her areas of special interest include breastfeeding support and education.  She has two beautiful children, two dogs and two cats, and enjoys exercising, gardening, reading, singing, dancing, and the performing arts.
 Maureen M. Morrow, CNM, MPH  Maureen M. Morrow , CNM, MPH, MSN is a certified nurse midwife with OB-Gyn Associates, delivering at Women & Infants' Alternative Birthing Center and the traditional labor and delivery floor. She has more than nine years of experience working with women of all ages and especially enjoys working with teens.  As a midwife, she supports women in the development and implementation of their birth plans and believes that all pregnancies should begin with a preconception visit and overall health check. Maureen is the mother of two daughters and their birthdays are two of the best days of her life.
   
 Nicole A. Heig, CNM Nicole A. Heig , CNM is a certified nurse midwife with Ob-Gyn Associates.  She is a graduate of Amherst College and the Yale University School of Nursing and a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives. Her areas of special interest include contraception and childbirth education. She enjoys getting to know women over time through well-woman, prenatal and postpartum care. Nicole likes reading novels, cuddling with her cat Hank, yoga, biking and eating at delicious Rhode Island restaurants.
 Chelsea Webb Chelsea Webb, CNM, MSN, decided at a very young age to become a midwife, after being present for the planned home births of her younger siblings and witnessing the benefits of midwifery care for her mother and family.  A graduate of Thomas Aquinas College and the University of Pennsylvania, she is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.  Chelsea's areas of special interest include labor support, postpartum support, family planning, and fertility awareness.
 Camille Williams Camille Williams, CNM, MSN, has a special interest in choices in childbirth, breastfeeding support and labor support.  A graduate of the University of Rhode Island and the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing, she is also a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.  Camille decided to become a midwife many years ago after experiencing an "aha!" moment while watching a news magazine segment featuring midwifery care.  Her favorite things are spending time with family and friends, the beach, yoga, camping, books and live music.
