We've Moved! The Department of Physician Relations and Services has moved to 300 Richmond Street, Providence, RI. If you need further information, do not hesitate to call (401) 274-1122, ext. 2001, or send us an email at PhysicianRelations@wihri.org.
The Department of Physician Relations and Services was formed in 1996 in order to continually address the needs of our customers - private practice physicians and their office staff. The department functions as a direct liaison between the physicians' offices and hospital services to achieve improved patient access, customer satisfaction and communication. Issues that can be forwarded to this department include:
- questions about existing services (hours of operation, reimbursement, billing, access, etc.)
- requests for educational/CME opportunities
- suggestions for new services
- recommendations for improvement of services
- requests for laboratory and other ancillary outreach services
- patient complaints
In addition to meeting with the office staff at their practice locations, this department hosts a series of Physician's Office Luncheons for the office managers or related office staff members. These luncheons provide a forum where the office managers can meet with hospital managers to help educate physician office personnel about changes or additions in services and to discuss any issues related to the hospital services being presented.
Through these relationships, the hospital has gained important feedback related to the improvement of, or the desire for, specific hospital services such as laboratory outreach, behavioral medicine, nutrition services, health education, and other specialty services.
The Department of Physician Relations and Services is committed to continually building the relationships with physician practices.
The mission of Women & Infants Hospital's Physician Relations and Services Department is to help community health care providers interface with Women & Infants Hospital, continually assess customer needs, and to provide hospital departments with customer feedback that is necessary to enhance, adjust or to add new services. It is our mission to act in a responsive manner in order to support the hospital's goal of increased physician satisfaction and stronger physician/hospital relations.
The Department of Physician Relations and Services is dedicated to the improvement of programs and services between the physician's offices and hospital.
