Your health care provider may refer you to the specialists in our Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine for additional care if you are having a complication during your pregnancy or have had complications with past pregnancies. Examples of conditions you may have include:

• Cervical incompetence
• History of preterm labor and/or delivery
• History of premature rupture of membranes
• Multiple gestation (twins, triplets)
• Recurrent miscarriage
• Placental abruption
• Placenta previa
• Preeclampsia/eclampsia
• Profound polyhydramnios
• Rh isoimmunization
• Severe oligohydramnios
