In order to protect one of the most vulnerable populations against the H1N1 flu, Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island will be holding two public flu clinics to vaccinate pregnant women and recent postpartum patients against the virus. The clinics will be held Saturday, November 14, 9 am - 12 noon, in Providence (Directions) and Woonsocket (Directions).
FAQs: What Pregnant Women Should Know About H1N1
Designed for pregnant women and new mothers who have not received the H1N1 vaccine from their obstetricians, the flu clinics are being offered in cooperation with the RI Department of Health and the VNA of Care New England who will be administering the vaccine through their highly experienced flu vaccine team.
Only women who are pregnant or within eight weeks following delivery of their baby or the loss of a pregnancy will be eligible. This is a walk-in clinic, and patients will be served on a first come, first served basis. Patients will be asked to present their insurance card at the clinic.
The Providence clinic will be held directly across the street from Women & Infants' main building, at 100 Dudley Street, level 0, suite 0020. There is free parking in the lot at the back of the building.
The Woonsocket clinic will be held in Women & Infants' Medical Office Building, 2168 Diamond Hill Road in Woonsocket. There is free parking adjacent to the building.
