The Division of Cytopathology offers high-quality diagnostic services in all areas, including Pap smears, non-gynecologic cytology and fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology. The division is staffed by board certified physicians, including one fellowship-trained cytopathologist, with many years of experience, as well as American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified cytotechnologists. We have strong quality control and quality assurance programs and are fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists.

Services that we provide include:

• Pre-screening of Pap smears with the Hologic Imager System
• Turnaround time for Pap smears generally three to five days following receipt of the specimen in the laboratory
• High-risk HPV DNA testing, including specific testing for HPV 16/18, at the request of the clinician and in accordance with treatment guidelines
