The Chronic Pelvic Pain Clinic offers appointments with physicians who specialize in pelvic pain, or pain located between your belly button and your hips. If this pain lasts for more than six months, it is called "chronic" pelvic pain. Our staff works with your primary care physician to determine what is causing the pain. Some possible causes are nerves or problems in the:
- Female organs
- Intestines
- Bladder
- Retroperitoneal space (between your diaphragm and pelvis)
A wide variety of conditions can be causing you pain.
Gynecologic conditions
- Endometriosis
- Pelvic inflammatory disease
- Fibroids
- Pain when ovulating
- Pain during your menstrual cycle
- Adenomyosis
- Cysts
- Ectopic pregnancy
- Pelvic congestion syndrome
Gastrointestinal conditions
- Diverticulitis
